eTravel Registration Guide — Official, Free & Scam-Proof

eTravel is the mandatory electronic travel declaration for everyone entering or leaving the Philippines — foreigners and Filipinos alike. It replaced the old paper arrival cards. It takes about 10 minutes, and it is completely free.

🚨 eTravel IS 100% FREE. Any website asking for a payment, “processing fee,” or “service charge” is a scam. The Philippine government will never charge you for this form. Fake sites charge $30–$90 for something you can do yourself in 10 minutes.

THE ONLY OFFICIAL WEBSITE:
etravel.gov.ph

Step-by-Step Registration

  1. Open etravel.gov.ph in your browser. No app download is needed — and beware: fake “eTravel apps” exist on app stores. The real system is browser-based only.
  2. Select your traveler type (Foreign Passport Holder or Filipino) and whether this is an arrival or departure registration.
  3. Enter personal and passport details exactly as printed in your passport. Double-check the passport number — a typo here causes mismatches at Immigration.
  4. Add your Philippine address (hotel name and city is enough) and your flight details.
  5. Answer the declaration questions and submit. The system generates your personal QR code instantly.
  6. Screenshot the QR code AND print it. You will show it at airline check-in, sometimes at boarding, and again at Philippine Immigration.

Official vs. Fake: Spot the Scam in 5 Seconds

✅ OFFICIAL

  • URL ends in .gov.ph
  • Never asks for payment
  • Browser-based, no app required
  • QR code issued instantly, free

❌ FAKE / SCAM

  • Domains like .com, .net, or “etravel-ph…”
  • Asks for card payment ($30–$90)
  • Pushes an app download
  • “Processing fees” and fake urgency timers

🟩 Green QR code = complete and valid → proceed normally to Immigration.
🟥 Red or “verification required” QR = missing or mismatched information → expect secondary inspection at the airport. Fix errors before submitting, not after.

🗣️ The Facebook Reality

  • Scam ads rank at the TOP of Google. Searching “eTravel Philippines” often shows paid fake sites above the real one. Always type etravel.gov.ph manually.
  • Register as soon as your 72-hour window opens. The site can slow down close to peak travel times — don’t leave it for the taxi ride to the airport.
  • One registration per entry. Every trip to the Philippines needs a fresh registration — old QR codes from previous trips are not valid.
  • Leaving the Philippines? You must also complete a departure registration on the same portal before your flight out.
  • Name order confusion: Enter your surname and given names exactly as shown in the machine-readable zone (the two lines with <<< symbols) at the bottom of your passport photo page.
