Visa-Free Entry Rules: 30-Day & 59-Day Privileges Explained
The Philippines grants visa-free entry to over 150 countries under Executive Order No. 408. However, “visa-free” does not mean “guaranteed entry.” You must meet strict conditions, and airlines are often stricter than Philippine immigration officers.
💡 THE GOLDEN RULE: To enter visa-free, you must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay, a confirmed onward or return ticket, and a completed (free) eTravel registration. Without these three, you will not be allowed to board your flight.
The Two Visa-Free Categories
🟢 The 30-Day Privilege (Most Nationalities)
Citizens of 157+ countries, including the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and most of South America and Africa.
- Valid for tourism, visiting family, or short business meetings.
- Can be extended at a Bureau of Immigration office inside the Philippines (up to 36 months total).
🟡 The 59-Day Privilege (Special Cases)
Citizens of Brazil and Israel are granted an initial 59-day visa-free stay upon arrival under special bilateral agreements.
