WHAT: When you extend your tourist visa, the Bureau of Immigration usually places a small visa extension sticker inside your passport. However, some BI offices currently do not have these stickers in stock — even though the fee for the sticker is included in your payment. They issue only a printed receipt instead.
WHERE: Reported at multiple district offices. Not yet confirmed which offices are affected.
WHEN REPORTED: October 2026.
SOURCE: Community form submission from a recent applicant.
STATUS: Single report — awaiting confirmation from other offices.
WHAT TO DO: If your office gives you only a printed receipt (no sticker in your passport), do not panic. Your extension is still valid in the BI digital system. Keep the printed receipt safely with your passport. When traveling between cities or leaving the Philippines, show the receipt at immigration checkpoints if asked. The receipt is your proof of legal status until the next visit.
